
Brian Charles Lara of West Indies made his International Test Debut in the year 1990 against Pakistan at Lahore.In the year 1994 the series between West Indies vs England played in Antigua Recreation Ground, St.Johns, Antigua.Brian Lara came in at Number 3 to bat as West Indies lost their first wicket when the score was 11 for 1,Lara surpassed the mammoth 365 made by fellow countrymen Sir Gary Sobers, against Pakistan in the year 1958.The World Record Highest score in Test Cricket by Sobers had lasted for 36 years.Lara in the match against England made 375 of 538 balls which included 45 fours in 766 Minutes.Lara was only 24 years of age at that time.The Match ended in a draw.The Man Of The Match was Brian Lara as he created a new World Record Highest Score in Test Cricket.A few weeks later Lara created a new First Class record of 501 Not Out for English County side Warwickshire against Durham.
In the year 2003 Matthew Hayden of Australia playing in a test match against the Zimbaweans crossed the record of Lara. He scored 380 runs in the first innings which came of 437 balls including 38 fours and 11 sixes in 622 minutes.The record of Lara was broken by the hugely builded Australian Matthew Hayden.
But great batsmen dont let records been broken by other batsmen they capture it themselves.Brian Lara returned to his favourite ground the Antigua Recreation Ground in the year 2004 against the same oppositions England but a differnt side this time leading the 4 match Test series 3-0.It was the fourth and last match of the series.This time Lara was the captain of the West Indies he was 34 years old at that time.Lara had won the toss and had elected to bat first.West Indies lost their First wicket when the score was 33.In came Lara at Number 3,he made 400 Not Out of 582 balls including 43 fours and 4 sixes in 778 minutes.He captured the world record which recently Hayden had broken.Lara is a true class.This record will be very difficult to brake for any Batsman.He is also the Leading Test Run scorer in Test Cricket History surpassing Allan Border of Australia.
